Biometric login blocks third-party consent acceptance when app is not running in background #1048

Description

@plansombl

Description

When the eID wallet app is not running in the background and biometric login is enabled, attempting to log in to a third-party platform (e.g. Blabsy) via the eID wallet causes the biometric authentication flow to block the consent screen — the user is unable to accept or reject the consent request from the third-party app.

Reported by: Talha

Steps to reproduce

  1. Enable biometric login in the eID wallet app.
  2. Fully close the eID wallet app (ensure it is not running in the background).
  3. Open Blabsy (or any other third-party platform) and initiate a login via eID wallet.
  4. The eID wallet app launches and prompts for biometric authentication.
  5. Complete the biometric prompt.
  6. Observe that the consent screen for Blabsy does not appear / cannot be accepted.

Expected behavior

After successfully completing biometric authentication, the user should be presented with the consent screen for the third-party platform (e.g. Blabsy) and be able to accept or reject it to complete the login flow.

Supporting Media

No media provided — add screenshots or screen recordings if available.

  • Device: Mobile
  • OS: Please specify (e.g. iOS 17 / Android 14)
  • Browser: N/A (native app flow)
  • Version: Please specify app version

Additional Context

  • The issue is specific to the app not running in the background. If the app is already running in the background, the flow may work correctly — needs verification.
  • Biometric login must be turned on for the issue to occur.
  • Affects any third-party platform using the eID wallet consent flow, not just Blabsy.
