How hard would it be to extend this a bit?

I am interested in using this for internal documentation. Would it be difficult to extend it a bit and rely on it for authentication to view the site itself also?

I think for that, it'd be best to rely on the authentication/password protection feature of your static site host if possible. This project could be extended to fetch the content dynamically from a private repository upon login, but password protecting your site would be more approachable.
