Summary

10 Change Tracker KB articles added in batch 3b — configuration, database, audit, and troubleshooting content — with a full editorial pass applied across all 10.

Changes

  • Reformats data lists into code-block grids
  • Fixes UI-term naming and bolding inconsistencies
  • Condenses verbose/repetitive steps (runs of near-identical single-command steps, nested numbered sub-lists)
  • Rewrites bare/symptom-style overviews
  • Restructures non-actionable Instructions content and nested if/then branches into subsections
  • Normalizes Step heading formatting
  • Links previously unlinked support/reference articles

Testing

  • kb-pr-open (Vale + Dale + Derek): clean or documented false positives
  • Local build: successful, no broken links or anchor errors

SME Review Needed

  1. create-installed-software-baseline-report.md
    — Example template CIS Win 8 L1 Base references Windows 8 (EOL). Please decide:

    • UPDATE (refresh example to a currently supported OS/CIS template)
    • KEEP (accept current version)
  2. enable-baseline-events-on-monitored-folders.md
    — Original screenshots are broken; prose steps were added to describe the 8.2 UI toggle location for baseline events. Please confirm:

    • UPDATE (correct the steps or provide fresh 8.2 screenshots)
    • KEEP (accept current version)
  3. add-replace-compliance-report-templates.md
    — Example template Windows Server 2012 R2 CIS Monitoring Template references an EOL OS. Please decide:

    • UPDATE (refresh example to a currently supported OS — e.g., Server 2022)
    • KEEP (accept current version)
  4. configure-recursive-file-content-monitoring.md
    — Install path uses "Change Tracker Generation 7 Hub" but other Change Tracker KB articles use "NNT Change Tracker Suite\Gen7". Please confirm the canonical 8.x path:

    • UPDATE (correct the install path in this article)
    • KEEP (accept current version)
  5. check-log-for-details-message.md
    — Legacy 6.5 Agent path is listed alongside current 8.x paths. Only 8.x agents are actively supported. Please decide:

    • UPDATE — TRIM (remove the 6.5 Agent path)
    • KEEP (accept current version — retain 6.5 reference for older-version customers)

Closes #1210

hilram7 added 6 commits July 9, 2026 00:56
Migrates 10 MongoDB, compliance-template, baseline-events, and Oracle-
monitoring articles from staging repo for Denis Goskolli's SME review.
Applied Vale/Dale/Derek polish. Frontmatter standardized (tags include
kb, products=changetracker, knowledge_article_id populated from
Salesforce). Article-type structure normalized to Overview/Instructions
with H3 subsections per KB style guide. Titles converted to gerund form
where article structure is Instructions-form.

Includes forward-reference cross-link from Batch 3a's error-hub article
to change-mongo-admin-password (this batch).
Reformats a comma-separated collection list into a code-block grid, fixes
inconsistent UI-term naming and bolding, condenses verbose/redundant steps,
rewrites bare or symptom-style overviews, restructures nested if/then step
branches into subsections, and links previously unlinked support/reference
articles across the 10 KB articles in this batch.
…ered steps

Converts the six instructional subheadings into Step 1-5 format, merges the
group-creation and device-assignment steps, hoists the repeated admin-login
prerequisite into a single note, and condenses wordy step text throughout.
…atch 3b

Restructures the baseline-events article so Instructions contains only the
actual action, moving descriptive walkthrough content into its own section.
Pulls a result-description sentence out of a numbered action list, and
normalizes Step heading punctuation to match the rest of the batch.
Compiles runs of near-identical "enter the following command" steps into a
single step with a bulleted/fenced command list across the Mongo backup,
restore, export, and admin-password articles. Also restructures Steps 3-5 of
the Oracle monitoring article into concise numbered actions, and changes one
callout in the recursive file-content article from NOTE to IMPORTANT.
Nested numbered sub-lists under a numbered step render as roman numerals in
some viewers; converts both instances in the admin-password reset article to
dash bullets for consistency with the rest of the batch.
